About this course

VTCT (ITEC) Level 4 Award in Core of Knowledge for Laser and Light Devices is a knowledge-based qualification aimed at laser, IPL and LED technicians, who need to understand how to safely and professionally provide laser and light application treatments in the medical and aesthetics industry. Throughout this qualification, learners will develop knowledge on the characteristics of laser, IPL and LED radiation and skin tissue reaction to laser, IPL and LED application. Additionally learners will cover hazards and precautions, safety management, safe product sourcing, risk assessments, quality assurance and relevant and associated legislation influencing the purchase and use of laser and light devices. Learners will also gain an understanding of the safe working practices required in order to protect themselves and their clients when applying laser and light devices.

  • Is this course fully online?

    Yes! We've carefully curated the course material to take you through the entire curriculum in a structured way remotely.

  • When will the exam be?

    We will advertise existing booked exam dates as they are secured, you are welcome to join an existing date or request another one that works better for you. We'll reach out to you once you've enrolled and ask you for some preferred dates for your online exam. The notice period to arrange an exam is typically anywhere from 1-8 weeks, pending the availability of a member of Bianco Academy and an iTEC invigilator, who will be present via video call.

  • What will the exam be like?

    The exam questions are multiple choice, so the practice questions in your online training portal will closely reflect the kind of questions you can expect. This exam is typically taken online, but in person options are available. Other students, as well as a Bianco Academy representative and iTEC invigilator will be present via a video call. The exam is prescribed to be taken under exam conditions, meaning googling answers or referring to course isn't permitted.

  • Can I be enrolled in more than one course at once?

    Yes! You can enrol in multiple courses at one time. In fact, this may be more efficient from an exam date perspective, however, you must receive a pass mark in a pre-requisite exam in order to pass the following exam. E.g., you can't get become qualified in Level 4 Core of Knowledge unless you have passed your Level 3 Anatomy & Physiology exam.
